unmanned mechanized warfare?

the good old us of a has announced that the pentagon will allow for the export of armed unmanned drones. although the export and sales are heavily controlled and monotered the idea of a unmanned aircraft being used on the us by another countries interested in purchasing drones i.e. china India and Russia. is very threatening. so has america made the world a safer place by selling heavily monotered unarmed drones?

Well selling them no they haven't made the world a safer place because they could be selling them to our enemies too so the world wouldn't be safer.

we shoulod keep them and use them ourselves. not sell them to countries that may use them against us. unmanned drones are a good way of keeping troops alive whether or not they actually do better than out current technology

This saves lives of the drone strikers, but not the people who are getting drone striked. I think that this just leads to more violence.

If you read the article, it clearly states that the drones will be sold the the ALLIES of the United States. Also, this is a reaction to the fact that China has been producing and selling their own drones to 9 different countries in the world. If the U.S. can truly closely monitor all drones that are traded/sold, than there shouldn't be a problem. So to address your concern on national security, it is extremely unlikely for the U.S. to be attacked by their own drones. Also, the United States is highly unlikely to sell military equipment to Russia. Also, if a foreign nation was to attack with a hijacked American drone, they would have to first breach the american jurisdiction line that is far beyond the flying capabilities of said drone when fully armed (186 miles). So in short, America has not endangered the world but rather made and attempt to make it safer.

I'll have to agree with Michael on this one. First and foremost the U.S. will not be selling to Russia-ever-because we still do not have working relations with them. Furthermore, according to text clearly stated within the article, sales from the U.S. are at this point and time under mere CONSIDERATION to Turkey and Italy. Both countries of whom are now joining the fight against militant ISIS. The sales have not occurred, and will not occur until further investigations have been completed. In conclusion, the United States of America is not threatening national security, but merely considering supporting those who support the fight against terrorism.

I don't think so because they are selling them to other allies, and yes there still is the chance of enemies capturing them, but that is really unlikely because they will be protected at all times during the transport.

The US should keep these devices to ourselves, selling them could benefit countries in negative ways. I believe we should keep them to our own benefit.

Considering that China is already selling drones to other countries, the U.S. really can't prevent drones from being internationally used. I believe that the U.S. is doing their best to make the world safer through selling their drones because these drones are going to our allies and the usage of these drones are going to be heavily monitored to prevent misuse.

The US is selling the drones to allies in response to China selling their drones. As long as these drones remain closely monitored then there will be no chance of it being any danger to the US.

I think we should keep them to ourselves and not let our enemies get a hold of them.

They have not made the world a safer place. If they are providing these drones to potential enemies, that is not safe. After the sales of these, others will be equally equipped. Not to mention a plane flying with out a human, is just as unsafe as an idea.

I think we should keep them to ourselves just to make sure they do not fall into the hands of any enemies

similar to nuclear weapons, the world will soon rush to get the new technology of this future warfare. at least we could sell to the other countries the drones for lots of money before they begin to produce drones themselves.

I think we should keep military equipment for ourselves. I don't think we should sell them.
